You cannot use diplomacy with people who do not value life - any life. I am grateful for a president who has the stones to pursue a righteous course of action regardless of which way the political winds are blowing. This all could have been resolved in previous administrations, but it wasn't. Is everything going along as efficiently as it should? No. Military and intelligence spending was cut to the bone previous to W's administration and if I am not mistaken, that started with his father and continued on through the Clinton years. As a nation, we grew complacent after the Cold War. We thought we knew it all. Metaphorically, Steve Irwin made the same error and look what happened to him. You only have to drop your guard for a minute to die a fool's death. Frankly, I believe in this nation enough to have ponied up and paid my dues. Too many Americans lounge in the comforts bought with others' blood. Freedom is not free. The world is not a beautiful place. And if we want to continue to enjoy the freedom of begign little pleasures like writing what we think on forums like this, someone has to pay the tab. But I'm all in favor of pulling out of some of these little nations around the world that have nothing to offer but an empty pocket, an outstretched hand and a knife behind their back.
