The whole "War on Terra" was a giant sham and a complete farce.
It's only natural that the "evil terrorists", mostly taxi-drivers, people in the wrong place at the wrong time and hostages of opportunity who were handed over to the US for handfuls of dollars are released. There is no evidence of them doing anything wrong, so why keep them imprisoned outside any legal boundaries ?

If you're worried about people being indoctrinated in the Pakistani and Afghan Saudi-sponsored and CIA aided Madrassas, then work on getting the Saudis to stop exporting terrorism and their extremist Wahhabite sect all over the Muddle East.
Addressing the issues that mean the richest oil-filled nations on Earth have such crap education that many poor children have no other alternative but to learn at the feet of the Saudi fanatics is also vital.

Looking at who maintains corrupt dictatorships or corrupt governments in place in order to exploit the mineral or geostrategic wealth of nations in this vital area is also crucial, because that creates the resentment that drives people to take up arms.

Big job, maybe. Too big and complicated, perhaps, for the people who exploit this region ?
Maybe it's easier to shackle Humanity, cripple Justice and cry "Terrorist" at anything or anyone who may rock the boat. Or oil tanker...
